The Author

large_profile_picture_with_pink_shirt_green_bg_squareMy name is Jérôme Provensal.

I was born, raised and educated in France. I moved to the US (Los Angeles) 20+ years ago and never looked back.

I’m a Software Engineer by training and passion, even though I almost went for a degree in Psychology. I havea MS in Computer Science and IT Systems from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6).

Currently, I’m Director of Software Development for a leading FinTech company.

For the past few years, I started to take great interest in topics other than pure software development; such as: creativity, innovation, the mind, design, and leadership.

My passion for computers started in my teens when I purchased one of the first (and very rudimentary) personal computers: a Sinclair ZX81 (I also splurged for a whopping 16KB RAM extension).

Computers, technology and tech gadgets continue to fascinate me and most people would consider me a nerd if it weren’t for my French accent.

My other passions are reading (I always have 2 or 3 books going at the same time) and photography. I’m never bored, always interested in discovering new fields/tools/techniques and sharing ideas with others

My motto could be: so many things to discover and so little time…

  1. Love your motto! 🙂 Seriously you almost studied Psychology? I have ever had that in mind too since I loved to observe people (character, way of thinking, feeling, personality,…). I’m always attracted by a nerd guy *lol*, but I have to accept the fact that I’m so not into technology despite my degree in IT *sigh*. No matter how hard I try, I just feel like I don’t have passion to know more about it. But probably after my another attempt jumping to the field (becoming a data analyst), I will start to love learning and keeping myself updated with the latest technology.
